Summary
One of a pair of late 18th century burr elm display cases. Both having a double cupboard with glazed double door and glazed side panels. The lancet mouldings interlocking at the top in the upper cupboard. The mouldings of the lower cupboard forming a diamond shape. Five sloping shelves in the upper half, two sloping shelves in the lower. The shelves, sub-divided into sections, are lined with a red felt material. Both cases stand on short square supports. They contain fossils and stones, collected by Sir Vauncey circa 1879.
