Summary
Watercolour portrait,Sir Henry Harpur Crewe, 7th Bt (1763-1819) as a child by Octavius Oakley (Bermondsey 1800 – London 1867). Half-length of a child. A label on the reverse is inscribed; 'Henry Harpur Crewe eldest son of Henry Robert Crewe and Frances Caroline Crewe/ Painted by Octavius Oakley..etc.' The child has fair ringlets of hair and wears a blue dress. He holds a ball with both hands. Square gilt gesso frame with circular central opening. The moulding has curved edging and a hatched surface, florets at the corner moulding.
