One of a series of 28 from the publication: Sacrae Historiae Acta a Raphael Urbin in Vaticanis xystis ad picturae miraculum expressa (Raphael's Bible) from the series of frescos painted by Raphael in the Logge, Vatican. No. '42' illustrating Reg. C.XVII (Kings chapter 17) illustrating David and Goliath. Inscribed: Stetit David super Goliath præciditg. Caput eius, et consurgentes Viri Israel persecuti sunt Philisthæis.
