Summary
Etching, The Origin of Painting (after David Allan) by Domenico Cunego (Verona 1727 - Rome 1803). Oval engraving on a rectangular sheet after a painting by Allan 1775. It shows the 'Origin of Painting' with a young man seated in profile with an oil lamp beside him. A young woman, half seated on his knee, draws the outline of his profile shadow on the wall.
