Summary
Etching, The Quack Doctor/Le Charletan (after Gerrit Dou) by Carl Ernst Christoph Hess (Darmstadt 1755-1828). Entitled 'The Quack Doctor/Le Charletan'. Dedicated to the Elector Palatine published 1794 by Valentine and Rupert Green. The 'doctor' is at a house window on a stage with a table laid out with bottles and papers. He is finely dressed and speaks to a motley group of men, women and children gathered around him.
