Print, engraving, Plate 36 Interior view of the immense Roman water storage cisterns known as the 'Piscina Mirabile' near Pozzuoli, The Antiquities of Pozzuoli, Baja and Cuma by Filippo Morghen (Florence 1730 - after 1807). One of a set of ten engravings, stitched together, the series entitled Le Antichita di Pozzuoli Baja E Cuma, drawn and published by Filippo Morghen, Naples 1769. The engravings illustrate various Italian caves and views across bays and rivers. Each one is accompanied by a short Italian text and there is a title page at the beginning.
