Print, etching, North-West View of Haddon, Derbyshire (after Thomas Smith of Derby) by François Vivarès (Montpellier 1709 –London 1780). Fourth of a collection of seven 18th century engravings. Views of seats. (d) 'A North-West View of Haddon' by F. Vivares after a painting by T. Smith. The house in the background is set on high land, in the foreground are horses and other animals grazing, with three people on horseback. An inscription reads, 'A North-West View of Haddon Hall, an ancient seat belonging to his Grace the Duke of Rutland, to whom this plate is most humbly inscribed by his Grace's most dutiful servant, T. Smith' Published Oct. 25th 1744. Narrow margin.
