Summary
Print, line engraving, The Oxford Almanack for the Year of our Lord God MDCCXLIII (a Birds-eye view of Lincoln College, Oxford (after James Green) by George Vertue (London 1684 - London 1756). Above, on either side, are drawings of two groups of people, mostly church men, in the centre of each group is a throne, Bishop Rotheram sits on one and Bishop Fleming sits on the other. Both hold up different plans of buildings. In the lower edges of the engraving are two churches, supported by putti, All Saints, Oxford on the left and St Michael's Church on the right. Depicted: Richard Fleming (d.1431) Bishop of Lincoln; Thomas Beckington (1390-1465) Bishop of Bath and Wells; John Forest, Dean of Wells 1446-1467; William Finderne; John Bucktot; Edmund Audley (d.1542) Bishop of Salisbury; Edward Darby; Thomas Rotherham (1423-1500) Archbishop of York ; John Williams (1582-1650) Archbishop of York and Lincoln.
