Summary
Oil painting on panel, A Breezy Day on the Scheldt by Johannes Hermanus Koekoek (1778 - 1851). In the left foreground are three men on shore; alongside is a rowing boat; midground, there are three sailing boats surrounded by four smaller boats; many other boats in background. Main boat flies a red flag with white anchor in one corner and 30 in centre. It also flies a red, white and blue flag of horizontal stripes. The gold coloured frame has corner details on the outer edge. KOEKKOEK is printed on the back of painting which also has six labels and two chalk marks. Label on frame in black and gold: ON THE SCHELDT / 1778 J.H. KOEKKOEK. 1851.
