Summary
Print, engraving, View of Wallingford (after Joseph Farington) by Joseph Constantine Stadler (b.Germany - fl. London 1780-1812). River runs across picture and is crossed by eight-arched bridge. Boats moored alongside far bank, with houses and church spire behind. Three cows by nearside bank, with fallen dead tree in foreground on left and two couples by trees on right. Within black line and grey wash borders. Inscribed: 'Wallingford.' Mounted and glazed in black and gold Hogarth frame. One of a set of 15 aquatints (see NT/COO/D/3a-o).
