Summary
Print, engraving, Hardwick and Maple Durham (after Joseph Farington) by Joseph Constantine Stadler (b.Germany - fl. London 1780-1812). View down valley from elevated bank. River to right, winding into distance, the near bank bordered by hedged fields and trees. Track runs along wood to left side of picture with lone figure walking towards large house. Within black line and grey wash borders. Inscribed: 'Hardwick and Maple Durham.' Glazed and mounted in black and gold Hogarth frame. One of a set of 15 aquatints (see NT/COO/D/3a-o).
