Summary
Print, engraving, Stanton Harcourt (after Joseph Farington) by Joseph Constantine Stadler (b.Germany - fl. London 1780-1812). An early stone house with wooden fence to either side. Turreted square tower in centre with pyramid shaped roof surmounted by metal sheep and flag. Tower attached to lower building with two exterior chimneys and gable block. Road in front with man in orange coat leading a white horse. Within black line and grey wash borders. Mounted and glazed in black and gold Hogarth frame. Inscribed: 'Stanton Harcourt.' One of a set of 15 aquatints (see NT/COO/D/3a-o).
