Summary

Red tortoisehell bracket clock by S. de Charmes, London; verge movement, one bell, engraved scrolled back plate; silvered chapter ring, signed false pendulum aperture, and calender aperture, between cherub head spandrels; the case with dome top and fret panel; c.1700. Now surmounted by a French ormolu figure of Jupiter. (Simon de Charmes c.1691-1730)
