Summary
Oil painting on canvas, Beatrix Potter (1866-1943) as a Young Woman, Delmar Harmood Banner (Freiburg-im-Breisgau 1896 – 1983), unsigned, circa 1948 (after her death). A three-quarter-length posthumous portrait of Beatrix who is wearing a pink dress and carry a posy of flowers with a Lake District mountain scene in background. This portrait may be a copy of another, which was based on a photograph (possibly by A.F. Mackenzie) of Beatrix Potter in an interior, and which appears on the front cover of Leslie Linder's The Art of Beatrix Potter (1955). Gilt wood frame also made by the artist.
