Summary
Wooden box with double-hinged lid which opens 180 degrees to lie flat. Metal hinged plain curved handle on left end. Right end handle missing. Front has single keyhole on outside and two lever lock internally. Front edge has remains of paper label reading; el V, (believed to be Chapel Vault) and remains of red wax seal. On the back a torn paper label reads; WITH CARE / VIII / S. Believed to be one of Wenlock boxes stored in Chapel Vault. Inside on top edge is inserted a label reading; ELKINGTON CO (LTD) / SILVERSMITHS / 22 REGENT STREET LONDON. Box has fixed shaped fitment covered with royal blue felt. Five compartments. Lid padded with kapok covered with felt.
