Illustration for March from Peter Rabbit's Almanac for 1929 (published September 1928). Two rabbits, Peter and a girl rabbit, struggle through a windy field. Peter''s umbrella has blown inside out. There are snowdrops in the foreground. The spring and summer illustrations for the Almanac were mostly prepared during 1927, while some earlier drawings were used for the winter illustrations (see Linder, Leslie, A History of the Writings of Beatrix Poter, 1971).
