Summary
Watercolour illustration for The Tale of Pigling Bland (published October 1913). This illustration shows two pigs dressed in shirts, jackets and trousers and each holding a sack and a walking stick. The pigs are walking together. There is a finger-post sign in the background. This illustration appears as the frontispiece of the published book. This was one of the first illustrations for the book to be completed (see Leslie Linder, A History of the Writings page 215). It shows the signpost in the lane close to Hill Top.
