Summary
Wrapper for copies of story letter extracts. Beatrix Potter has written on it in ink, 'These are not the original letters, I borrowed them from the Moores'(sic) and copied them roughly It was unfortunate that I did not copy the dates on the original letters.' This is partly written over some pencil writing in Beatrix Potter's hand which is very difficult to decipher. The last part seems to be in rhyme, and all is possibly in code writing. On the other side of the sheet is Beatrix's list, in ink, of the contents, 'Stumpy. Peter. The Tale of the pig. The fox. The minnows The squirrels The cat that begged 4 fish, the anglers[?] The Circus The Mumps The Rabbit Mr Cook. I [?].'
