Summary
An early Victorian satin birch press cupboard by C Hindley and Sons. The superstructure with rectangular cavetto-moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors enclosing a shelf, the chest section with two short and long ash and cedar lined drawers, on a plinth base, stamped; C.HINDLEY and Sons 134 OXFORD ST LONDON 26016. The hinges stamped; HORNE PATENT. Numbered in pencil to the reverse; 26016. Cupboard has keyhole, lock and key. Evidence of woodworm. Turned drawer knobs screwed in place. Base of cupboard lined with patterned (white water lilies and green leaves) plastic sheet pinned.
