Oil painting on canvas, Antony Gibbs (1756 - 1815)(after John Downman) by Edward Patry (London 1856 - 1940), signed and dated (lower left): E. PATRY 1926. A full-length portrait, in a green coat, a view of Exeter beyond. A copy of this picture was in the Royal Exchange, London, presented by the Lord Mayor in 1927 and the original by John Downman was in the collection of Lord Aldenham.

Purchased by the National Trust from the estate of the late George Richard Lawley Gibbs, 2nd Baron Wraxall (1928 – 2001) with the assistance of the NHMF, Art Fund and donations from members and supporters in 2002
