Predominantly green painted wooden model railway locomotive chassis with 2-2-0 wheel arrangement and a gauge of approx. 2". It has a black painted wooden smokebox, running board, front buffers and footplate floor, green painted wooden wheels with black painted tyres and flanges, green painted metal wheel spokes and a green painted firebox within which is mounted a simple clockwork motor driving the larger wheels' axle through a centrally mounted cog. The motor winding arbor projects from the left hand side of the firebox and the key is missing. The front buffer beam is painted red with gold painted lettering reading "No XII". The smokebox has a horizontally-hinged semi-circular lower door at the front which pivots on a thin metal rod. The upper section of the smokebox is broken and missing.
