Summary
Oak 'backstool' chair, late 19th/early 20th century. The caned tapering squared seat is supported on H and rear stretchers of rectangular section, the front legs baluster and bobbin-turned above peg feet linked by a raised reversed-baluster stretcher. The turned rear legs rise to form tapering columnar uprights with ring turnings supporting the scrolled pierced and incised cresting rail. The framework enclosing the cane panel beneath has moulded edges. See W.F.66.
