Purchased from J. W. Bentall Antiques, Ripon, May 1975 by the donor's father, Colonel Rupert Alec-Smith (1913 - 1983) at The Old Rectory at Winestead (Alec-Smith Inventory 1957, p. 28) and thence by descent to his daughter Alexandra Alec-Smith who donated them in 2013 to the National Trust for Maister House (given by the Georgian Society for East Yorkshire, Colonel Rupert Alec-Smith and Barkers & Lee Smith Ltd in 1966)
