Caption

Christopher Columbus brought pineapples back to Europe from his travels to the New World. They became a highly coveted item and King Charles posed for an official portrait showing him receiving a pineapple as a gift.

Summary

One of a pair of pineapple finials on circular socles and bases secured to top of the wall at the South East corner of the house.
