Summary
Pastel on paper (oval), John Hobart, 2nd Earl of Buckinghamshire (1723-1793), possibly Hugh Douglas Hamilton (Dublin 1736 – Dublin 1808). An oval head-and-shoulders portrait of a man turned to the right, gazing at the spectator, dressed in a blue/green coat, black waistcoat, white stock, powdered hair tied back with dark ribbon.

Purchased by National Trust in 1957 from William Lowry Lenox-Conyngham (1903–1957), shortly before his death, along with the other contents of Springhill
