Summary
Pastel on paper (oval), Called The Hon. Louisa Molesworth, Lady Ponsonby, later Countess Fitzwilliam (1749-1824), but more probably The Hon. Henrietta Molesworth, The Hon. Mrs John Staples (1745-1812), British (English) School, late 18th century. An oval half-length portrait of a young woman, turned to the left, gazing at the spectator, wearing a blue coat over a white open neck blouse, her blonde (powdered?) hair dressed high. Grey background.

Purchased by National Trust in 1957 from William Lowry Lenox-Conyngham (1903–1957), shortly before his death, along with the other contents of Springhill
