Full description
Rectangular mahogany pistol case with brass reinforcing corners, hinges, lock and lid escutcheon. The lid escutcheon engraved "J.W.Wakefield R.N." Partitioned interior lined with green baize. One compartment with a lid with bone lifter. Most accessories (powder flask, bullet mould, etc) missing. Case contains; 4 musket size lead balls, 2 pistol size lead balls, 2 spare nipples, 1 sear spring, 1 sear, 1 mainspring and 1 safety catch. Case size 50.8cm x 20.6cm x 6.5cm. For duelling pistols 215605.1 & 2, by McCormick, Belfast, c1800. Probably Robert McCormick, gunmaker, Belfast and Dublin.
