Summary
One of thirty-five (Christie's states thirty-seven) plates forming part of Copelands Spode part dessert service (c1900). Decorated with exotic birds and butterflies, the borders with oval panels of flower sprays on a dark blue and gilt oeil-de-perdrix ground, edged with narrow gold bands. Stamped on base in green is a crown and the words: T GOODE & CO / LONDON / SPODE / COPELANDS CHINA / ENGLAND and in red the number 012517.
