Summary
One of seven square dishes forming part of Copelands Spode part dessert service (c1900). Decorated with exotic birds, butterflies and insects, the borders with oval panels of flower sprays on a blue and gilt oeil-de-perdrix ground. Blue border edged with narrow gold bands and gold band around foot. Marked on the back in green with a crown and the words: T.GOODE & CO / LONDON / SPODE / COPELANDS CHINA / ENGLAND. Also stamped in red: C 1251. Was broken in several pieces and repaired with glue and staples. Cracks in centre.
