Summary
Bust, pearlware, depicting George Frederic Handel, standing on a socle with rounded front edge and convex sides, facing proper left, wearing a long curled wig, wearing a shirt tied at the neck, coat and with a sash over his left shoulder, Ralph Wood II, ca 1780, Burslem, Staffordshire; coloured in glazes and enamels, the wig grey, the face naturalistically coloured, the jacket in puce and the sash in pink with a pattern of red inverted 'v' and a green border.
Provenance
Part of the Bambridge Collection. The hall and contents were bequeathed to the National Trust in 1976 by Mrs Elsie Bambridge (1896-1976)
