Summary
Pewter spirit measure, West Country type, scroll handle terminating in a ball, with a flat thumb spur; narrow neck which splays outwards all round. Body has been joined at the widest point between top and bottom. Inside the collar are the marks 'City of Bristol' in a circle with 'G' in the centre; on the opposite side is what appears to be a crown above 'C R' but partly stamped across this is what appears to be 'C88 or 'CB8'. On the base is a maker's mark which appears as 'FOTHERGILL' in a circle with what appears to be a handshake in the centre; also marked U X
