Summary
Thirty hour English striking lantern clock, by [signed] Thomas Dyde, London c.1685. two train, posted frame movement with anchor escapement, long pendulum and count wheel hour-striking on bell. Single, modern lead weight with Huygens endless rope. 6 1/4 in. diameter chapter ring with roman hour nunerals and quarter hour circle, signed in engraved dial centre - 'Tho Dyde Londini fecit'. Single steel hour hand. Brass case with lion and unicorn frets, engraved on the front but plain on the sides, and with brass back and side doors and hanging from an iron hoop from the upper plate, secured by spurs from the rear feet. New lead weight fitted.
