Summary
A carved panel, possibly chestnut or oak, probably French or Italian, late 17th century. In a later moulded oak frame with stylised rope carving. The panel carved in high relief with a six-pointed star with a carved border with an inset and addorsed pair of 'C'-scrolls in each corner.
Full description
This panel, which reputedly was once fixed to, or hung on, the door of the Clergy House, was given to the National Trust by Mr Charles Green in 1955.
Provenance
Said to have originally come from front door of Clergy House. Donated to the National Trust by Mr Charles Green in January 1955.
