Summary
A walnut and fruitwood chair, the shaped top rail carved with acanthus leaf scrolls and husks, the splat pierced. Cabriole front legs with carved shell and husk on the knees, balls and claw feet. Splay back legs with triangular lozenge feet. Inset with embroidered loose seat with petit point needlework of fruit design on green blue ground, T/88.
Full description
A walnut and fruitwood chair, the shaped top rail carved with acanthus leaf scrolls and husks, the splat pierced. Cabriole front legs with carved shell and husk on the knees, balls and claw feet. Splay back legs with triangular lozenge feet. Inset with embroidered loose seat with petit point needlework of fruit design on green blue ground, T/88. Seat is embroidered in petit point of fruit design on green blue ground. The embroidery was undertaken during the 2nd World War by the Women's Needlework Guild and were purchased by Lady Brunner in the 1950s.
