Summary
A six fold gilt leather screen. Decorated in oil colours on a textured gold ground with Chinese-style garden scenery including birds, trees, flowers and rocks. Surrounded by a painted border with arches along the top from which a flower garland is draped, with an outer border consisting of vignettes of rocks and vases with flowers. Each panel edged with leather strips and studs. English, early- to mid-eighteenth century
