Full description
Similar covered two-handled bowls, sometimes with stands, are described as porringers in the Chelsea porcelain factory sale catalogue in 1755 and 1756, lot 58 'Two fine porringers and covers in flowers'. They are similar to écuelles in Continental ceramics.
Provenance
Gifted to the National Trust by Sir Felix and Lady Elizabeth Brunner, along with Greys Court House and Estate, 1969.
