Summary
Black leather narrow scabbard, stitched on the underside, to accompany a Civil uniform sword (NT18492.9.1). Has a loosely attached brass throat at the top with five decorative engraved bands (comprised of three individual lines) and a crest shaped frog stud, and a similar chape at the tip with eight decorative bands, divided into three sections. Part of a Royal Household uniform worn by George Abraham Gibbs as King George V's Treasurer of the Household 1921–1928. From wardrobe in Lord Wraxall's Bedroom. Found stored in large, flat tin trunk NT17229.
