Summary
Black leather narrow scabbard to accompany a Civil uniform sword (NT18492.8.1). Has a brass throat at the top with nine decorative engraved bands (comprised of five individual lines) and a scallop shaped frog stud, and a similar chape at the tip with twelve decorative bands. Attached to sword frog (NT18492.8.3). Part of a Royal Household uniform worn by George Abraham Gibbs as King George V's Treasurer of the Household 1921–1928. From wardrobe in Lord Wraxall's Bedroom. Found stored in large, flat tin trunk NT17229.
