Summary
Fragment of bust in two pieces, part of life-size portrait of a 3rd century boy set on a toga contabulata ('folded' toga) bust. The bust is under life-size for a man or life-size for a child (the latter seems to be the case). The head appears originally to have been an early or middle third century portrait. The crewcut hair style, deeply drilled pupils, heavy eyelids, pouting mouth and the marked cranial structure are typical of portraits of children of the middle third century.
