Summary
Fragment of life-size portrait head in two pieces of a 3rd century boy set on a toga contabulata ('folded' toga) bust. The life-size head shows a boy turning to his right. The boy has a crewcut hairstyle that tightly follows the shape of the head. The head appears originally to have been an early or middle third century portrait. The crewcut hair style, deeply drilled pupils, heavy eyelids, pouting mouth and the marked cranial structure are typical of portraits of children of the middle third century.
