Summary
Rectangular metal strong box, painted black with gold decoration. Rectangular squared handle hinged in metal tube attached to lid. Front side keyhole and lock mechamism on top. Marked in gold; A LAWLEY. Luggage label attached to handle written in ink reads; Arthur Lawley / letters (and) broken enamel brooch / (and) cigarette holder. The lid has lock mechanism in middle at front. Hinged, with two enclosed hinges, the whole width being encased in tube. Bottom inside painted black. Front edge left of lid; CHUBB AND SON. Front edge right of lid; 68 ST JAMES'S ST. S.W. On lock mechanism; CHUBB'S PATENT / MAKERS TO / HER MAJESTY / 1341111 / 123 QUEEN VICTORIA ST . LONDON.
