Summary
An early George III mahogany casket on stand in the style of William Vile, the casket of shaped rectangular form with canted corners, carved in relief with acanthus scrolls and scalework and with giltmetal side handles and twin lockplates; the stand on cabriole legs with lions paw feet, carved on the knees with lions masks and scrolls.
Provenance
Loaned to The National Trust by The Croome Heritage Trust in December 2007.
