Summary
Clock mechanism. The secondary mechanism of the mechanical clock in the tower of the stable block of Penrhyn Castle, for transmitting the movement from the main mechanism below to the two clock faces. The movement consists of a number of bright gear wheels mounted in a green painted wrought iron support attached to a beam in the building. Connection to the main mechanism is by a vertical iron shaft, and there are two similar horizontal shafts to transmit the movement to the clock faces on each side of the tower.
