Summary
Locomotive plate. A rectangular, brass maker's plate, with scalloped corners, from a railway locomotive, no.747, built by Andrew Barclay, Sons & Co. Ltd. in 1894. The plate has a polished brass raised border and lettering, and there are two fixing holes. The background is painted black. The locomotive was a 0-4-0ST at Fulham Gas Works from 1940 to 1966, when it was scrapped. Prior to this it worked at numerous locations in southern England.
