Summary
Locomotive plate. A brass number plate of generally rectangular form, but with curves to the corners and a raised top. It is from a railway locomotive, no.31at Beckton Gas Works, a 0-4-0T, built there by the Gas Light and Coke Co. in 1902, works no.2. The plate is painted red, with a polished brass border and lettering, and there are two fixing holes. The locomotive was scrapped in 1959.
