Summary
Locomotive plate. An oval, brass maker's plate from a railway locomotive, no.3794, built by R & W Hawthorn, Leslie & Co. Ltd. in 1931. The plate has a polished brass border, a similar inner oval border, and raised brass lettering. The background is painted red, and there are two fixing holes. The locomotive was a 0-4-0ST No.5 at Beckton Gas Works, Essex, and was scrapped in 1959.
