Summary

Candelabra branch, from one of a pair of 18th century Portuguese cast silver-gilt three-light candleabra, the three arm branch with central bud finial and drip-pans and sconces conforming to the candlestick. Maker's mark R.C. linked, Orporto, circa 1770, in mid-18th century English style, the hexafoil bases with shell motifs and coloured borders have knopped and fluted stems.

Provenance

Accepted in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the National Trust, 2013
