Summary
A Lockheed P38 Lightning, an assembled and handpainted 'Skybird' model aircraft. Kit number 16D, 1941. Twin tail monoplane. Painted brown and green camouflage above, pale blue below. Red and blue RAF roundels on upper surface of wings, red white and blue below, red white blue and yellow on tail booms. Wheels yellow, propellers black with yellow centers and tips. Left under carriage leg and nose wheel leg bent. Cracking around cockpit. Number 46 of a large collection of one hundred and thirty four painted wood and early plastic 'Skybird' aircraft models and others, mostly 1930s to 1940s.
