Summary
Jug. Earthenware. Globular body, shallow foot rim. Silver (platinum) lustre with mother of pearl glaze. Hand-painted decoration of classical frieze and vines and leaves. Marked to base as 'Gloria Lustre' for A. E. Gray & Co. Ltd., Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, pattern number 7017, designed by Susie Cooper (1902-1995). Original blank jug marked for Sampson, Bridgwood & Son, Longton, Stoke-on Trent., 1925-1930.
