Gates and screen. Wrought iron gates and screen created by William and Simon Edney of Bristol between 1714 and 1718. Painted black and gilded, the gates are surmounted by the intertwining monogram of John Morgan and his wife, Martha.
Provenance
These gilded gates were made between 1714-1718 for John Morgan of Tredegar by the brothers William and Simon Edney of Bristol. The Tredegar estate, house, and contents are currently on loan to the National Trust from Newport City Council.
